Infinity (Xandrian Circle Book 1)
Infinity was a thrilling read. It had everything I enjoy in a story: intriguing characters, sexy scenes, a little bit of fantasy, and some great plot twists. All of these elements kept me turning page after page to find out what happened next. It started out a bit strong on the narrative side, but dove right into the relationship struggles pretty quickly, which are the parts that I enjoy most. It had a good combination of dialogue vs. narration, which kept it interesting.
Carmen, the main female character is quite a complex girl. She’s an emotional train wreck–assertive, non-trusting, and feisty for days. Her male love interest is quite the opposite–which makes for entertaining, romantic subplots in this story. The characters were well-described and developed; and, the pace was steady for the most part, but picked up quite a bit in certain chapters. And the sex scenes were hot!!!
This book also had some supernatural elements which I found unique and intriguing. It was apparent that each character had his/her own story to tell, which could easily make for spin-off titles in this series. The author even treats us to a sample of her subsequent title in this series, ‘Unbound’, which I am looking forward to reading.
I’d highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys magic, fantasy, and romance.
